A young group of climate activists came together in 2019 to try to do climate justice differently. Youth Verdict was born and our first task: stop Clive Palmer's Waratah Coal project going ahead using groundbreaking legal arguments that centred Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, speaking up for their cultural rights and their Country.

Now, lead by Murrawah Johnson, Youth Verdict continues to advocate for the Cultural Human rights of First peoples on this continent and educate on how Climate Change impinges on these rights.

We're ready to take on some of Australia's biggest fossil fuel mining companies to protect our human rights and stop new coal projects going ahead. Are you with us?

We are guided by First Nations people who are committed to doing this generations part in fulfilling the legacy of caring for Country. We draw strength from First Nations ways of being, a legacy of Black litigation, and resistance to the colony in Queensland. ​Sovereign First Nations people taking back power over land is core to cultural survival and climate justice.​
